Mr. Davenport received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1973 and his law and MBA degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977. Mr. Davenport practiced law with the firm from 1977 until 1996 when he was named general counsel of Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. (Nasdaq:PPDI). He served as general counsel of PPDI until 2001 and in 2002 was named president of PPDI, a position he held until the end of 2006. Mr. Davenport also served on the faculty of the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington from 1982 until 1991, attaining the level of associate professor.
